I am an intuitive abstract painter who gathers information quietly and releases loudly. Everything around us has a unique energy signature: These permeate my senses and find their way onto my canvas.
My art is my devotion to the world I live in.
I’m a midwestern-born soul; I’ve searched my entire life for vast, profound beauty. As my scenery changed, so did my definition of artistry. The impact of looming cumulus clouds could be found in the tufts of a rescue dog's fur. In even the smallest details- a crack in an ancient wall, the char in a withering oak. The yuccas blooming in the drought-ridden hills, the communal language of the returning swallows, the textures that freckle an aging wall, or the nostalgic edge of an outdated fashion logo. I see endless layers of story in it all.
Decades in experimenting with oil alone gave way to a new chapter embodied by the freedom of mixed media. This doesn't just mean a mixture of oil and acrylic but an amalgamation of burned palo santo, pages from a childhood story, the metallic edge to a dog tag, and so much else- all sourced from the bountiful life and experiences I’ve felt privileged to have.
I often refer to myself as a "recovering businesswoman." After 30+ years of catering to customers, financial demands, and endless difficulties that strike small businesses, I simply crave peace and an honest reflection of myself in my art. Each canvas, panel, or paper is alive with memory.
If a piece speaks to you and you choose to purchase it, I thank you for setting free a little memory of my life. May it have a good home with you.
